The Art of Real Moments. Portraits that feel like you.

A “Perfect Photo”

What has an Honours Arts Degree and nearly 15 years working as a Photographer taught me about making the “Perfect Photo”?

Nothing.

Let’s Talk

Forgive my cheese but I’m a firm believer that a “perfect photo” is completely unique to the humans in the frame. Your relationships, style and personality. Are you about wild horses in meadows or more into your wild sense of humour and your pet chowchow? Trust me, even with wedding photography the photos that end up on your fridge surrounded by your favourite weird magnets or in epic frames—they come from moments that speak to who you are. No artsy camera experience or sassy vogue director can tell you that. You tell me that!

So how do you actually want to remember your day?

If it’s hanging upside-down with sparklers over a freezing river because it looks cool on Pinterest we’ll make it happen! But I’m a big fan of authenticity in portraits and candid, emotive photography with a creative spin.

With me you’ll get a photojournalist at heart with a creative director that can help you get in the right lighting, look good and feel confident. You can trust me to help capture those candid moments or create portraits that feel natural—whether you’re creative, classy, or a couple of sexy nerds. Tell me a bit about you and I’ll make the rest of it easy.

Natural Moments. Portraits that feel like you.

if your friend who knows you wont make you hold hands in a heart shaped flamingo—neither will I! I want to think like your friend and make photos that actually represent you.

Black & White Candid Photos

It’s of course, that moment you first see each other. The awkward joke that one of your parent’s crack while you’re getting ready that makes everyone howl. Your brother being cheesy. Your dog wanting to help. That loving look in your dad or mom (or uncle Jo’s eye). The quiet hand squeeze when you’re at the alter and feeling that “oh my god this is finally happening” intensity. A super real, hot kiss during the fun, dancey part (not just when you’re supposed to). Your kid—squealing in joy on the dance floor or doing something hilarious. I pay attention to these moments. I pay attention to your loved ones and guests, too. All of it is a part of your memory. Beauty, humour, the cheese and the cool. All of it matters.
